okay people i thought i had better put some photos on here. this is a young lime blue pied i think i did not breed this baby i got it from a mate last week. i`m sending the blood of for dna testing tommorow. this is a young cock bird i still have in the nest. he is a grey opaline platinum. he will darken up alot more over the next 3 months. i believe when he matures he will look like a true metallic silver. to my knowledge he is the first grey opaline platinum in existance. his parents are a blue opaline platinum hen and a grey split platinum and opaline cock bird.

They are both very beautiful birds... I love the Grey Opaline Platinum... You didn't breed either of them?

That grey opaline is a spectacular looking bird Matt what do you think it would be worth on the open market today and how many breeds did it take you get that coulouration?

okay i`m going to put the grey opaline platinum back across a blue opaline platinum hen that way i will get blue opaline platinum hens and cocks and grey opaline platinum hens and cocks. once i get a few of them i will then try grey opaline platinum to grey opaline platinum to see what a double factor or double dark looks like and i will also put pied and lime to it to get grey opaline platinum pieds and lime grey platinum opaline cocks.
and to answer your question john 2 years it took. it was easy really. i put a blue opaline platinum hen to a grey cock to produce grey split platinum and opaline and i then put one of the grey split platinum and opaline cocks with another blue opaline platinum hen and he is the result a grey opaline platinum cock. he has 2 brothers as well, they are just blue split opaline and platinum. they are for sale as well.
