hi guys what do you think is the size of a holding cage should be?
i am planning on building a suspended and i was thinking of 2m long x 1.2m high x .9m wide.
also what would be the best size aviary to breed them in?
are conventional better to breed them in than suspendeds?

all my cages are conventional, they are 2.4L x 2.0 h x 0.9 w. and my holding cage is 2.4L x 2.0 w x 2.0 h. i tried suspended years ago and didn't have any success. they advantage is that they cost very little compared to conventional. also i use con's because as there names say, gressies. this way they can still get on the ground and dig around and what not.

Have both convential and suspended ( only just built the suspendeds) They are 2400 long 1200 high and 800 wide. Convets are 1200 wide 3000 long and 2000 high. The birds do like to get down on the ground when it is hot and they can not get as low in the suspendeds but I have a sprinkler system on top. We have had over 40 days for the last week so I hope they can handle it. Suspendeds do allow for the ground to be watered and the cool air does rise up and cool the birds.

all my aviaries are suspended. they are 2 metres long by 800 millimetres wide by 1 metre high. i use full partition on the side so the birds can not see next door. my floors are wire bottoms so all the excess seed just drops to the floor and i sweep it up as i have concrete floors. i find it much easier to keep clean and i have less mice disturbing the birds because they carn`t climb up the legs to get to the seed. and i just put down mice baits for them to eat where the birds carn`t get to.
